Octenol is a proven mosquito attractant that further increases their effectiveness. Octenol consists of 1-Octen-3-ol (alcohol based fragrance) combined with a wax blend to hold its consistency. The naturally-derived fragrance mimics human breath and has been described as a mild mushroom or Camembert cheese scent. Each Octenol lure lasts 30-60 days, depending on environmental conditions, so this 2-pack of replacement lures is an economical way to boost the effectiveness of your trap for up to 4 months. Safe and effective when used as directed Octenol is an EPA-registered mosquito attractant that is safe for humans, pets and the environment when released into the air but can be harmful if ingested. Your Octenol cartridges should be kept sealed and stored in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children until ready to use. When handling cartridges, avoid contact between areas under foil wrapper and skin or eyes, and wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using the washroom. Used cartridges can be wrapped in several layers of newspaper and disposed of in the trash.
